In order to learn android, first you need to know java! you can start with sololearn, take the java course, after you feel you have a good knowledge of java, start with android

my approach: 1. Solo Learn Java: Good starting point but leaves some serious gaps in your knowledge of Java. 2. Head First Java: A must read in my opinion. 3. Head First OOAD (Object Oriented Analysis & Design): Shows you how to design a great app via OOP principles 4. Android App Development with the Big Nerd Ranch guide: if it was to hard try Head First Android Development and then come back here again. but after all the best way to learn coding is to code and making your app.

I recommend you the udacity courses of Java and Android, they are both conducted by Google workers themselves and deliver a great learning experience with awesome insights of Android!

you need to learn XML too, in order to create layouts etc. and ofcourse java is the programming language for Android.(which sololearn offers) then get Android Studio(search it on google, and download to your computer). after that lookup on some tutorials to use and interact with Android Studio(there are tutorials on creating first app)

As for me, the best way to study Android is YouTube. You may find a lot of tutorials starts from how to change app icon and end in databases and design.
