I'm confused by DOM.

You can make an image of DOM as a tree: root, then branches at the same level, then branches that are children of previous branches etc. After that you can reference to some elements of the page in the next way: root>body>child(or siblibg)... using some of DOM APIs. DOM is refer by document in javascript code .
For example .

In this statement we will get the Id from the page and store it into Id variable..
