Assess your current knowledge and skills. Do you know what is needed for someone to become gd/d? Start from searching on web skills and experience looked for by hiring companies. Check US universities curriculum of courses and degrees related to gd/d. Mention your desire to people in your network and, perhaps, they know someone who is related to this field (e.g a programmer, professor in CS, IT subject). Connect with them and ask for advice. Make a plan to develop skills and knowledge. Assess your progress along the way.
