With what programming language should I start?

I've only a single year of programming knowledge from a high school digital electronics course utilizing an Arduino board, and am interested in others' opinions on which programming language I should start with.

I'd recommend you to start with C. because Python is easy and it wont help much in understanding other languages. C is widely used. You can then learn C++ and then Java and then Python.

I can recommend you Python.

It's a simple to learn but really powerful language. Other options are Java and C#. If you learn Java you will be able to learn Android development(if you are interested) more faster than knowing the others.
