Help Desk Ticketing System - email to ticket functionality question in how to do it (primarily coded in C#)
So I have a friend who is in charge if a small locally owned company that is full of developers and they are wanting to create their own in-house Help Desk Ticketing System. creation of the website component, tracking, time keeping, etc. is the easy part. However, the piece where if a client emails in to the support email address a ticket is automatically created or if there is a ticket number already in the system it is updated with the email content and attachments. How do you code this sort of this thing

I understand there are tons of open source and other software out there. However, we would like to do it internal as to not have to deal with open source and waiting on others to fix bugs. We can own the system, enhance it exactly how we want to do it, and be able to modify it at a whims notice. Looking forward to the feedback. Thanks.
