Python as an encouraged first language?

Just wondering how many of you started learning to code with Python, only to be quickly drawn towards other languages more suited to app building or tailored to web design/functionality.

If anyone has ever played the web game Diep.io you can imagine Python as a standard tank and after you reach level 15 you can choose from a number of new languages to start learning based on your interests. If you start with Python it will be easier to learn other languages indefinitely.

It was the first language I started with and I agree, it is challenging, but I’m just a lot more interested in app design and function than mathematics, data mining, statistics, etc.

Yeah definitely, the deeper I got with Zed Shaw’s “learn Python the hard way“ books, the more eager I became to see graphic related results
