so no support in HTML (5) for .wav files??
or did I miss something

It just depends on what website you are using. So, you could use a .wav with the <audio> tag, but maybe not all browsers would support it.

it depends on the browser, internet explorer doesn't support it but chrome, firefox and opera support it
