Why would a teacher start intro class in java when c++ is clearly easy to understand then java.

money ... Java is very popular, and all students hope that they will find a highly paid job

java is also a good language. it must also be taught. he is the most cross-platform

both are quite similar but there's a difference i noticed. Java is good at teaching you programming, it kickstarts your programming basically, it's good at it. C is good at teaching you about computers. so i think this is basically what teachers also want. It's a bit hard to understand(and see results yourself) about pointers, and other concepts. So teacher starts with java teach you a bit about what programming is basically, builds your logic, and then teaches you about computers and how they work in real world with C and further increases your logic through C. although we live in a world where things are not always constant feel free to star with c as well.

I find Java significantly easier than C++, just an opinion though.
