what are the steps to creating a BOT?

hello everyone.
I have a bit of experience with java scripting using eclipse for web automation testing. but I run into lots of problems with eclipse on execution of the code. So I decided to find something else closely related such as creating BOTs. Is anybody here knows what the steps should I take to learn how to create a BOT and what kind of tools do I need to download and use?
