Most programmers start at about that age or even younger. Hell, in my country, in some schools, they teach C++ (a harder language) from the age of 11.

Lucky. At my schools, they start teaching scratch.mit.edu in grade 8 (last of middle school), basic HTML in grade 9, along with things like Microsoft Word, Visual Basic in grade 11 (16-year-olds), and finally basic Java in grade 12 (the last grade before University). Not to mention, after grade 9, any computer-related courses are optional. If only people who want to learn it do it, they should make it more advanced.

@Jacob
Well, at my schools you either start C++ from grade 5 or 9 (or not at all, depending on your profile). And you learn Windows and Office starting with grade 9 regardless of your profile. Other stuff like HTML exists too, but it's optional.
