Can I become a professional programmer?

Question

By learning these apps (sololearn), can I become a professional programmer? I know these will help. But just wanna make sure.

I've read 'you should start from Python' on some forums and now I'm learning it.

Because I'm kinda starting from ground zero, I don't know the depth of these apps. And that's why I'm asking this question.

I'm an engineer/good at math & thinking/love to work with PC/....

Thank you guys, I wanna hear something realistic, motivational,'you should stop' or whatever.

Answer = it depends on your definition of "professional programmer".

I'm taking a course in university right now and you learn the same thing. the difference is that you can engage one on one with your instructor if you run into a problem. this doesn't include the amazing TA's as well. The job of any professor or instructor is to prepare material for the students to learn. They break it down based on what they believe is the easiest or more effective way for you to absorb it. For example, at the start of my class, we did not do any programming for the first 2 weeks. we discussed abstraction basically.

For example we made a stapler program:
make stapler staple paper
grab stapler
place paper under stapler
press staple down

This might seem silly, but we learn that while a human can understand this perfectly fine, a computer requires "percise" instructions. Like how should it position the paper?

You can engage with others online for help, but help on a face to face basis helps a lot. That being said, online help is faster than teacher help as they have other students and classes to deal with.

Classes as well challenge you every learning step you make to help you better understand how your tools work and how you can use them more efficiently. you can test your own skills on your own and further improve yourself. It isn't restricted to school only. how you test yourself depends on you. Most people go about it by trying to make an algorithm work. *can I make it do this?* *I wonder if I can do this*.

Many people are self taught programmers. It takes time, effort, and most importantly the dedication. Majority of mod makers for games are self taught. it isn't hard. Learning how to program is like learning a new language.

Short answer, yes you can be an amazing programmer self teaching yourself.

That's quite motivational.
'Professional Programmer' is the one who can make living with programming I think. Even if they wouldn't make money, they can. That's what I mean.
