How Similar is Eclipse to Android Studio

Question

I have an Android Development tutorials course that’s based on eclipse

But I would like to know if it’s be easy following up the tutorials with Android Studio rather than Eclipse, considering Eclipse is outdated

I would appreciate someone with experience in both these IDE to share light on the similarities of this two IDE and if it will be a friendly learning process doing this. Thank you

They are the 2 that I use. I like Eclipse. as for being similar to AS, no not so much. They are similar enough you shouldn't have a problem..

That said, if you want them to be more alike, Jetbrains intelliJ IDEA for Java as Jetbrains makes both that and Android Studio
