How to: make spotify play a song at a certain time

I am interested in creating a program that can play a certain song from my spotify playlist at a certain time. I am new to programming, so I am looking for any tips on how I could perform this.

For the standalone player I'm not sure Python will be as rewarding because you may just be branching out to Applescript:
