I'm trying to install VLC and Chromium from 4 days and spent 4-5 hours daily in terminal trying several packages and sometimes running same command everyday.. I have tried packages from almost 15-20 sites for both VLC and Chrome.Maybe sometimes same..

actually the best version is 16.04 because 17.04 ver is kinda beta version it's no longer support some app and it's firewall expire date is within end of this year But 16.04 ver is not like that it's firewall expire upto 2022 I think. if you install 16.04 ver first update and then use it
