What is the reset button?

I keep seeing a reset button just under my profile picture. What is it and should i hit it? If I hit it will I loose the certificates to my already completed courses? Thank you for any help.

Yes ,if you hit this button you will loose your rang and badges,and you will restart the course from the begin.

You will loose all progress accomplishment in that given language, including all gathered XP. Basically, as the name implies, it's a way to start over.

You do that when you want to restart your lessons,to more practice and understand more clearly concepts.
