What is the Find [ctrl/cmd + f] function

Question

When on pc (or phone) you can find a word in a document by using cmd/ctrl + f then typing into a box, how does that work?
I want to make an app that for example: is one page and has a list of dog breeds and some may have “Aus” in them - AUStralian Kelpie, AUStralian silky terrier etc - I want to be able to highlight all the ones that contain the word “aus” so I can jump to them immediately, does anyone know what this is called and how I can make it?
