Is there another way to use arrow keys without using ncurses?

Just wondering if there is another way to take in arrow keys for controls without using the ncurses library?

Not sure if this is the solution you're looking for, but you could use the wasd keys instead of the arrow keys. And check if the user input matches the ascii value associated with any of those keys. Simpler than checking for arrow key input
