OS and SQL compatibility

guys could you kindly confirm or negate I can install SQL 2016 on Windows server 2012? thanks a lot

No from my own expercie but just form searching.
I think this article says that you can.

-> This article applies to SQL Server 2016 (13.x) and later
-> Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 require KB2919355 before installing .NET Framework 4.6.
