Web development or software development?

Wanted to ask opinions here. I'm kind of a beginner having an okay understanding in html, css and a beginner understanding in javascript, c#, c++ and python. I started working with PHP now because I really like it, but I don't really know which one is more future proof. I want to make apps (made some basic form applications already), but I like web as well. Which is more worth/future proof?

Well web standards change quite a lot. PHP is more for backend (AFAIK) whereas HTML+CSS+JS make most of the kickass web of today. I have no clue what this future holds. Python is hot right now, but it could be a bubble. It's definitely not leaving any time soon. C++ has a long lineage and is the language of the gaming industry. The majority of software is still written in part or whole in C++. C# is an MS Frankenstein reinventing several wheels. Right now it still doesn't play perfect on Linux. If I had to choose C++. In fact I did. But it's a light sabre of languages: powerful and hard to use if you're not a Jedi. Ultimately, choose your own path, you must.

WEB LANGS html css and js will remain around for a long time since web docs are based on it JS with the introduction of node, js enters serverside and has yet to explode PYTHON in data science it competes with the data dedicated r machine learning ... beginner friendliness ... web dev .... one of the best langs you can invest in ! C# windows corp pet, depends on windows presence mainly PHP since it has the advantage of being included without user installation on popular hosting solutions, even only past maintenance assures it's longetivity C++ syntactic sugar ++ it remains preffered for mamoth jobs

Thanks for your opinions. In this case I'll stick to applications and game development rather than web, but I think C# and Unity will be good for me now since I find advanced C++ a bit hard now. Thanks again, hace a nice day! :D
