Google releases Grasshopper App for learning JavaScript.

So far the app gives a very practical approach to programming, with a goal of giving the user a problem solving focus in coding.

Grasshopper uses their own predefined functions to keep the beginners interested and not bored. It's a nice approach in my opinion, because kids prefer visual learning, colorful pictures and interactive game like experience. Introducing them to boring theory and command line stuff is a guaranteed failure.

You can get all the custom functions codes at the Grasshopper web site and reproduce them wherever you want.

Grasshopper is there for you to start exploring. If you do, eventually, you will learn the basics and figure out how to recreate "drawBox()" and other functions with SIMPLE BUILT IN JavaScript methods and properties.

In fact pro coders create their own complex functions and use them just like on Grasshopper. That's how it works. You just have to practice and you will get it as well.

Learn the SYNTAX, instead of memorising functions names!

Thanks for your comment, Vitya. Then... If I learn and study commands as "drawBox" or "drawBoxes" can I only use on Grasshopper app? Can I will use them in other sites as SL? I ask this because I am learning and studying them, and I don't know if studying them will be useful to use out of GH.

That app is cool. However I started a few days there, and I don't know how to code with that code in SL.

Does "drawBox", the first code learned, work here in SL? Or what can I do wrong?
