I have my HTML and CSS files ready, and I have purchased a domain name. What’s the next step? How can I make my website go live?

You have to setup a server hosting your website on some sort of machine. Some companies can host websites for you, but you can get Apache or something running on a computer.

Maxwell Anderson Just to note if you're hosting on your personal computer you'll need to purchase a static IP from your ISP.
