Robert Atkins Good you asked.
Go with Big Java binder version.
The language is so easy to understand, and it's also packed with lots of exercises to strengthen your programming knowledge.
Just like the Head First books, it's also very graphical

Robert Atkins Let me pose in a healthy opposition, I'll say you go with the books titled ::
1."Big Java"... Cay Hortsmann
2.Java Concepts.. Cay Hortsmann
3.Core Java... Cay Hortsmann

D'lite i appreciate the sources i will gladly give them all a read through, is there one you think should be read first? im no master programmer but i have a firm understanding of classes, objects, encapsulation, generalization, recursion, constructors and methods as well as inheritance and a somewhat understanding of interfaces. so if you could recommend one to further expand upon the base knowledge, it wouls be appreciated!
