Probably not purely from this app but it's a good foundation. You can definitely use what you learned from this app to create something that you can use to get hired. Employers care more about what you've done and can do than pretty much anything else.

That is dependent on what kind of programming you want to do. For example, if you want to do web programming then make your own website to advertise yourself. I would also suggest working on something that you would want to use. You'll do a better job, get more out of it, and be more willing to work on it.
