I study Python from a manual. What real tasks can I acomplish by doing so ?

New to programming. Spend much time with Python and SQL but not really sure how I will put it to use. What benifits over somebody who doesnt learn programming ?

Programmers solve hard problems using computers. Since the problems are hard, they break it down into smaller, easy problems, solve those (since they are easy), and then assemble all the parts to solve the whole thing. Learning to program does wonders to your problem-solving skills, and that's useful in all walks of life! And programming is also fun of course.

thanks for such a helpful answer. Now I have a clearer picture of what it is I am doing this for. Sounds scary (challenging), but fun as you say. cool
