Countryless Learners?
Have you seen Sololearn profiles without a country? I first thought these were bots but some seem to be actual people/learners. Why is the country setting optional in your profile? In fact, I think anyone can even enter a random country which is not his/her own. Why does Sololearn not use an IP address or geolocation to cross-check or automatically set the country? I understand privacy may be important to some but is it OK to be able to fake your country, even if geographical borders are not so important in a global future?

Perhaps people are using services where the IP addresses don't match up with their countries, but still want to set it.
Also, when I was tracing global users for some work stuff, you find that block information isn't always accurate.

Well, I don't think it's really as complicated as all that. The app asked me if it could know my location and I said no.
I can confirm that I can choose to identify with any country in the drop-down list.

Tunnels? Could you explain Kirk Schafer ? Is that a way to spoof the IP address?

Monic For example, from people behind censorship walls such as The Great Firewall (as it's known on the open Internet side). See also The Golden Shield Project.
[edited to avoid implying GFW and GSP are the same thing]

Yeah, would've picked Neptune if it was a choice...

Neptune sounds much nicer than UR-ANUS!! đđđ. To keep this discussion relevant to computing, the Voyager2 spacecraft made its closet approach to Uranus in 1986 and to Neptune in 1989. The computer memory capacity (RAM) of this spacecraft was only 68KB!!

these people IP addresses don't match that of their country , as a result it appeared like they don't have a country or they reject when sololearn ask for their location
