If you have no programming background I would certainly recommend C# and SQL as a start.
Dynamics has a dedicated IDE called MorphX that uses a programming language called X++ which is similar to C++/C#
Also as a technical consultant it can be extremely useful to be familiar with the functionality of the core product and its modules, and the business processes behind them.
