Why there is being shown a number beside the name of new female SoloLearners??

Question

From 2/3 days I have been noticing a matter that there's being shown a number beside new female SoloLearners! It's only shown in new female users not male!! And there is also a sequence among the numbers!!

AL Araf, you're right. Looks like a weird bug. I've searched with 3515 and all search results belong to female users from Bangladesh :/ I've informed respective authority referring your post. Thanks for the info :)

AFAIK user name is chosen by the users themselves, I seriously doubt SoloLearn would do such thing as to add a suffix to its user's name, especially if it differentiates genders, there's no sexism in this community (I hope), besides until it is perfectly clear, no one can be precisely assumed a male or female, profile pictures can be deceiving, so how could SoloLearn, or anyone at all tell, that new user x is male and y is female.

Do you have an example of such accounts? I would like to see this for a fact, in case there are plenty enough evidence, we can pass this up for mods to see, probably : )

Hey Ipang If you make your country Bangladesh, then visit the local leaderboard of Bangladesh! Then you can find such kind of accounts and all the accounts which you will find with number in a bracket all are the name of female in our country!!

I have tested your statement and found it to be true, and it even happens with names written in latin characters, they have a number at the end. If you haven't already, I suggest you write to SoloLearn about this, or contact a mod you happen to know to be around. Understand that I'm not distrustful, but evidence is always a good thing : )

AL Araf I don't know for sure, but it *might be* an issue with character encoding, again, probably ... Were the names written using non latin character sets?.

I think it's better if you ask SoloLearn directly by e-mail, though, we can also ask a mod's help to pass this on ...
