Regarding Freenome ,

Their free domain advertisement is misleading. Its free for 1 year but not possible to register free next year. when I registered few free domains a year ago, It was said I just had to re register the domain name to make it free for another next year.

on 3rd OCT, one year completed, they purposefully sent me a re-register notification after the last date.

Now I cant renew it for free, and have to pay for them. Since all the domains were used for testing only so no harm here.

But yeah thumbs up for free 1 year, thumbs down for tricking me and intentional late informing.

Please note that freenom.com only give away free domain for one year, which is no mentioned clearly in their website. They would charge a fee in 2nd year likely.

You can “get” “free” domain names there, but they are still the ones who own the domain name.
In short, they could (technically) “delete” your domain name, especially when you violate their terms.
**Update: you’ll need to renew it annually or else you might need to pay for re-registering the domain name
