The Purpose of C++?

I would like to become a game designer, what's the importance of understanding C++ and how to make it easier to understand? I'm attending Full Sail and classes start soon, I would like extra help.

C++ is not difficult to learn.

What is important is a languages tools and support.

When excecuted properly c++ offers features that games need, such as speed and versitility.

Basically the same as any other programming language.

A means of giving a device instructions, to carry out operations.

I understand that much. what makes it different than the others, is it harder to understand etc?

C++ is a great language to learn. It is not harder at beginners level, and as you progress it gives useful inssight on how things work.
