first step in which way?

hi there . im studying petroleum engineering msc and i want to learn some codes writing for my career , please point me some information about first steps (wich language i learned first) grateful for your response.

By petroleum engineering you mean the robots that do the fracking, controling leaks with carefully calculated explosions, or the trucks that move fresh water around? Depending on the details, maybe look up microcontrollers. There are threads in the SoloLearn Q&A too, but I think making use of extensions search engines may benefit you more.

Usually we pick the goal before we pick the tools. Providing your background as a drilling engineer doesn't give us much in the way of guessing what kind of program you'd like to make. Maybe we're thinking you want to program robots but really you want to be able to guess where the next well could be. Maybe we're thinking you want to be able to calculate how much water can go through a tube at a certain speed and pressure when really you want a mobile app for gathering the necessary signatures for signing off on things or something related to accounting or auditing. Do you get where I'm going with this? Each programming language is optimized for something different. Pick based on the goal.
