You can find everything from here https://developers.google.com/training/certification/associate-android-developer/ The exam is four hours long and can take over a month to be approved Resource https://developers.google.com/training/android/ The exam costs 150$ for one attempt. So make sure you’re ready.

Yes most are paid if you want a valid certificate but otherwise if you just want to learn you can go for “audit” courses in the popular learning sites like W3, coursera, edX where you need not buy the course but you will also NOT get a certificate. If you want a good certificate like Google or Microsoft buying a course is better (and the only option) according to me. Great things don’t come free. 😉 If you enroll, they will provide you with preparation tutorials and study materials btw.

I'm Microsoft certified but it was paid for by the company I worked for. My brother had to get his network engineer certification on his own, yes you'll get better rates if you invest in certification.

There are plenty of free resources online that will help you reach your goal of becoming an android developer. Start with the keyword “free” and search Google and Youtube. You’ll run across plenty to get you in the right direction.

Please carefully separate the words: ~ certificate -- like an award for achievement, such as winning a race or completing continuing education. It does not matter if they are free or cost money. ~ certification -- how you get "certified", usually demonstrating work, effort and often monetary investment intended to protect the integrity of the certified group / certification process. Mostly to help you "separate the wheat from the chaff"...they do not mean the same thing.
