What is Perl useful for a web developer?

I want to be a web developer, and I want to know how much it is worth learning Perl.

I cant say its not worth, it has pretty good frameworks to work with. And even Amazon still use perl (http://highscalability.com/blog/2007/9/18/amazon-architecture.html).
