"Why is JavasScript named after Java?" and a whole lot of other things

I just have no idea how the hell did they name an ECMAScript standard "JavaScript..." Is Microsoft's JScript back in 2010 JavaScript? I mean, they share file extensions (.js) and all When did programming languages learn to use curly brackets? Why are comments usually marked with "/"? Do you agree of the fact that VBScript is the Visual Basic version of JavaScript? Can I use other programming languages such as C# in making a website besides using ASP.NET? What is MSHTML? Yeah. Those are the questions I want to ask

they changed livescript to JavaScript renamed after java was becoming trend in the programming world. ECMAscript is a standardisation for JAVASCRIPT for changes and updation.
