What are the things to learn after core java?

i had been learning core java for 6 months with good practice sessions by solving some problems over the internet and also in sololearn.If i want to extend my knowledge to more topics and technology where should i focus?or should i keep solving more problem in core java itself to gain significant clarification over the language?

Javascript is used in web , so if you are intrested in web development (websites)go for it.
Or else if you want to build desktop applications like ms word etc go for java,c++ or c#
see where your intrest lies

I would also want to know whether learning javascript in addition to that of my knowledge on core java would be useful or not? r should i think abt other language r should i study advanced java concepts?which way could be a better one?
