Can someone explain ActionListeners in Java to me?
Why do we need them?
What do they do?

The classes ActionListener and ActionEvent belongs to the package java.awt.event.
For example you have a Window with a button.
Event: Click Button
With an ActionListener you capture the event and define what should happen after clicking this button.
