Sololearn is a good place to start with programming, it provides beginner friendly courses. By taking courses on Sololearn anyone can have the understanding of programming and what are the syntax of a particular language. But when it comes in comparing these lessons with University taught courses there is a significant difference. The courses in institutes are designed by the most experienced people in this tech industry however Sololearn has a good and supportive community but the courses in institutes provides in-depth knowledge. Also, i want to mention that coding is like maths, you can't learn it by reading but you have to do it many times and make mistakes to learn it which you can do while in you university courses. There are many assignments, projects and exercises to practice that helps you in your learning. Moreover, courses in institutes are designed in a systematic way like what to taught first and what comes after that but on Sololearn you have to figure out of your own that where to start.
