JavaScript challenges don’t always reflect ones skill on the language
Am i the only one to have noticed a couple of times that challenges are not about someones knowledge of the language more than his ability to make quick calculations in a relatively short amount of time?

Well sir I think they make these challenges not to test someones absorption capacity( even though it's important)
The main objective is what Honfu said

Being able to understand a piece of code quickly even if its messy is also part of the skill.

//rather then that coding challenges includes both your ability(creativity) and your knowledge about coding. As for programmers it's good to have a sharp brain to do some interesting things

Yes I also feel like unless I use other resources and look at examples and write some code myself to solve problems, I am not really going to be good in Javascript by doing challenges alone.

HonFu i have no problem with messy code, thats part of the skill, my point was about arithmetic calculations.

Hm, okay, yeah, I also encountered a few riddles (in all languages) that were only about calculating a few numbers. Sort of pointless.

Same is for HTML, JavaScript challenges are just arithmetic problems whereas HTML is just recalling memorised answers.
