How did this code of mine manage to make it to the Hot Today list?
https://code.sololearn.com/WiYJXOefvM5z/?ref=app I didn't benefit from any like storm or ask people to upvote it. Is it a result of having 2K+ followers? It only has about 11 likes from about 95 views at the moment. How do you explain it? I would like to understand how these lists like "Hot Today" work. And oh, whatever you do, please don't copy the code as you may be infringing copyright!

It could be because of the amount of clicks and views.
It's simple really. You're just a blue dude in a helpful mood. I see your name everywhere and it's always consistently helping folks.
Other than that, most likely people click on your profile after seeing your comments because they recognize your icon. Then they probably click a few of your most recent codes.
It's just possible that it made it inside of the thresh of qualifications compared to other posted codes.
I could be wrong. Just a thought.

A blue dude in a helpful mood Adrian. That's awesome. I think you helped me find myself a slogan there. I don't want to get too carried away though as I sometimes get too many personal messages from people asking about things.

Speaking about the hot today list, this question is on the hot today list near the bottom đ

It seems to be the amount of activity that is done with the code. Comments, upvotes, etc.
Interestingly though, one code that was quite recent, appeared on the Hot List with only 4 upvotes and comments đ€

Sonic Haha. I can understand that. To be honest, folks like you are exactly what we need. It's a nice change of pace to see a very helpful person, and I'm pretty sure that many others would agree.

Many SLs upvote code without even running the code.
Be happy for it but dont take too much care.
Worthful is a good comment with ideas and critic.

Edit: that question has now been deleted.

Candyopoly yeah! Most definitely.

I would assume the hot today section sorts codes by how many likes/views (maybe a culmination of both) it got in that day. Because of that, I wouldn't think it would need to gain too many likes to be put on that list đ€·ââïž

Mehnaz ( busy studying ) when they repost a modified code as a new one, doesn't it restart with zero upvotes and views, making it not hot?

Mehnaz ( busy studying ) I see your point. In that case, SL should not really update the timestamp of a modified code.
