How long do you think it will be until we have consumer quantum computing and how will it affect the way we code?

So Google and Nasa are working on a machine thousands of times faster than super computers when this tech gets to us how will it change the way we work?

I have no idea when it may come about if it does. If it does, I think we will approach programming in a different way, probably having computing doing more of the work for us. I imagine programming would probably get more user friendly and aimed toward the general public.

I agree with that, but I feel like this is something that is really hard to predict. I guess that's why you put this out there, to get other peoples' opinions.

Once they can program themselves we are all screwed.. they will quickly surparse us and realise we are a pest worthy of extermination lol

the backbone of most pro languages is assembly which is responsible for flipping of bits and bytes.but quantum use qubit so i think there will be a big change in low level languages.

My guess is within a decade, code wise it will either get a lot easier or a lot more specialised like it used to be.

The last chip sold for around $15 million and supposedly 100 million times faster than classical computers at solving optimisation problems. Question is will we even need code if these beasts become mainstream.

Yep our only hope at that point will be Arnold Schwarzenegger.
