I would like to know what best software to use when building a website

You can use "Visual Studio Code" as IDE, Node. js for the Back-End and languages HTML, CSS (or SCSS, Stylus, LESS, etc.) and JavaScript (or Typescript)

Jay Leach JQuery and Bootstrap are good libraries, but if you want to be a great programmer, you've got to be able to do what those bookstores do for yourself

I really like to use Atom for IDE, and InvBoy has the other stuff pretty spot on. Tons of GREAT options honestly to choose from, I'll add on Bootstrap and jQuery. I'm still novice though so you'll have more advanced options from other users.
