"Keylogger" card reader?

So i am very stupid (But not really). And i was wondering these past few days if its possible to make a trojan credit card chip that when you insert the card into the card reader it uploads a program like a keylogger that grabs the credit card info and the pin number while you are typing it. Im still learning to code and im pretty young so im not the absolute genius mastermind that could do this but i just wanted your take on this and also another hypothetical what if you own a store an you reverse engineer the card reader so that it gets all the credit card info and pin number and then actually does its job for the payment.

(That was just on my mind and i am unable to figure this out so good luck)

A. The chips on the cards you see only store a very small amount of data.

B. Even if you could somehow fit a program on the chip, the program reading the data would have to be exploited somehow.

C. How are you going to get the data out of the machine?

D. Doing something like this would lead to serious charges if you're caught. Like big time.

Yes i understand your concern and i honestly just wanted to know i would never even try that because i dont care enough to try i was just curious and i didnt actually want to do it but now that you answered my question i can stop thinking about it and concentrate on my exams it was very fun. why do you think skimmers are a thing? if someone wanted to write a program to do it, they already would have.
