Yes, you do😊 SQL works with PHP. It won't really make (much) sense if you learnt PHP without SQL if you want to make a functional website. SQL is used to communicate with the database.

SQL is used to interact with the database, like query, update etc.
PHP is used for server side scripting. You have to learn both to design a complete website.

SQL is easier to learn BTW.
