Tips for visual studio code

I'm staring to look at code editors and decided on vs code. Can anyone give me any tips so I don't accidentally mess up my computer?

Just install it normal. What languages are you going to programm in?
Than you might want some plugins which there are plenty available for vs code

I'm still deciding which ones to use but will definitely be using python
