Pseudocode:

add inputName to array

averageName method:
lengthOfArray = 0
lengthOfNames = 0

for each name in arrayOfNames:
lengthOfArray += 1
lengthOfNames += len(name)

averageOfNames = lengthOfNames / lengthOfArray
