Ya same. As most people would say: - practice - Start a small project, and: research how to do some things, ask questions when you get stuck on something. - Combine the things you learnt into one bigger project. - Practice again - look at other people's codes and try to understand what's goin on. - Don't go too big when you are a beginner. --- I'm a beginner to programming too ---

Yep, I’ve felt that way since I was 13 years old up until this year (I’m 23 now) I consistently would start learning a language and as soon as things got too complicated or I felt like I would never get anywhere, I would quit only to repeat that same process almost every year (I got no where in 10 years) it was only this year I forced myself past that breaking point and continued with learning. Let me tell you, I learned more in the first month alone past that breaking point than I have in 10 years. It’s the overcoming of obstacles in which you begin to learn the most. Don’t focus on where you want to end up, dont expect to be making some brand new innovative program any time soon, but set realistic goals for yourself. Re-inventing the wheel is ok when you’re learning. Don’t give up when things get hard, take an advil for the headache and keep pushing yourself. Overcoming a problem that has been driving you insane is the best feeling ever. If you really cant grasp a concept then move onto something else and come back to it later. One thing that really motivates me are completed projects. My first real project was a program to keep digital records for mine and my families vehicles. Sure, there are lots of programs that do the same thing much more effectively, but this was mine and that makes it special. It took me over a month of headaches, but I finished it. That was a huge moment for me-seeing my vision come to a reality. Now, when I really get down on my potential I look back to that program and remind myself that if I work hard enough, I can do what needs to be done. So I guess what I’m trying to say is pick a project (a realistic project) and see it through to the very end. These milestone projects can be a great asset to your motivation as well as show you how much you’ve grown when you look back.

So you see you're not alone. ;-) Important thing is that you make *just a little progress today*. If you do that for a year, you'll have made a *lot* of progress.

That's a common sentiment when you start. You just gotta hang in there, write your code, improve on it, learn to debug code and one day you will be good at it.
