Html5 is just a newer version of html, some new tags to work with, but still just a markup language.

You know you can style stuff in html without an external css file, right?
(example: <p style="color:blue">some text</p>)
But it's better to use an external css file instead?

The same applies for javascript, the course might give you an example of js inside your document, just to show you it CAN be done.. But it's better to point to an external js file. Don't focus too hard on the js code itself, but more on the html tags around it, for now.

But yeah, javascript should be the next thing you learn, after the html and css courses.
