Why use uint64_t instead of unsigned long long in c++, are there any benefits?
Advantages of different unsigned integer types?

It's ok I just found the answer :)
A unsigned long long int is not standardised across all systems so the size can change depending on the system running the code. A uint64_t is standardised in c++ and guarantees 64bits of storage, you need to include stdint.h to use it though. Just in case anyone was interested.
