Problem with unity

Question

What software should i use to edit c# code in unity ? I installed( visual studio code ) software for editing the c# scripts and i connected that to my unity , and then i installed some tools for visual studio code but there is a problem and that is when i want to type Debug.Log(""); my visual studio can't detect that and dosen't work in unity . I also used visual stodio 2015 and it dosen't work too. Plz help
