What are the general programming languages? And are there some that are used for specific things like music notation softwares?

I'm a musician and I've been in situations where I see some code and I don't know what to do in those cases.

Apart from html, css, sql, jquery, swift and to some extent js and php, all others taught here are general purpose programming languages.
