Wow, I keep playing and losing

And this is really frustrating btw, it would be really helpful if the right answers would be explained why they are right as well. Most of the questions I understand afterwards when answer is given but sometimes I just have no idea.

Have you already written a lot of code? Just after finishing the tutorial, your knowledge is still quite raw, and also you're at risk to forget half of what you learned. You need to write programs with your own hands, then it all starts to come to life and settle down in your head. Challenges will then become easier.

thanks for your reply, appreciate it. in about a month i will attend a web developer course that will last 6 months, I should know then. these sessions here on SoloLearn are just to get first ideas. got you, one needs to start coding and not just reading and filling in the blanks. soon I'll post my first bits of code.

I get your complaint, and I agree. so what I’ve done for incorrect answers where I still don’t understand, I take a screenshot and then either: 1. GO TO GOOGLE! Always a good answer lol 2. Play with the code in the code playground. changing small things always helps me to understand difficult concepts!

Well the key is time. After some time you'll start to see the same questions appear. You need to learn from your mistakes by checking the correct answers. If you don't know why the answers are as such clarify in the Q&A

what i'll say now is not new, already known, but heavily underrated. writing code, trying to solve problems, to build something, stuff that will make you get your hands dirty will help. why? because it will make you do the most necessary thing for your development: the debugging. it's the most certain thing to happen in your career as a software developer: having bugs in your code. when you try to debug you can end up making research for hours, days, weeks. this is what helps you to sink in all the information you're getting from the courses. if you don't put in the time for it then you're postponing your development as a software developer. there's no shortcut, no secret formula, but it's good when you know upfront that: hard work works. good luck, Thomas Steindl, you'll do just fine.

It's really okay. I lose a lot of challenges too but all you have to do is practise and review your lessons. That's what I'm doing.

A hint for those who say 'finish the course first': 1.) Click on the picture of the poster. 2.) Click on Skills. EDIT: Or you just shoot from the hip, write something unrelated and downvote the guy who points it out.

keep going, and learn with the mistakes, and keep in mind that the courses are just to learn how the languages are, how they work, terms, etc. you need to practice. create your own situation with then. see videos, forums, and making mistakes again to learn more and more :D

HonFu [#GoGetThatBugChamp!] Something I did was go through part of a course, and play around with what I learned. I started with basic math with variables. It sounds stupid, but it really helped me get going.
